This property has been in the hands of various owners over time who used it as a home as well; the one before last, a great suporter of the Catholic Church as well as a restless promoter of the development of Cuatro Ciénegas, was responsible for the construction of the county school named Escuela Primaria Municipal Venustiano Carranza as well as for the initiation of the works to build the water network in town; Mr. Gilberto Arocha Cantú and his wife Mrs. Diamantina Flores González who also built the east section of the construction thus creating a central garden which has been a distinctive mark of Misión Marielena. The architectural design of the hotel is Mexican Colonial which is clearly distinguishable due to it’s orientation towards leveraging rain water for domestic use as well as for the gardens.
This colonial house has hosted important political and artistic personalities such as Mario Moreno “Cantinflas”, whos memories are enjoying the peaceful evenings seated on the rocking chairs in the central garden observing the stars that are a classical mark of the Cuatro Ciénegas desert.
Remodelation that was done by Arocha Flores family, made the property a point for reunion for family members and friends; such vocation remains nowadays offering our guests a plentiful -
